The paper presents results of the research project which included analysis of the local level migrant integration practices in other countries and development and testing of integration practices in one of Moscow neighborhoods. Analysis of the experience of other countries, first of all European ones, allowed authors to delineate a number of “rules” illustrated with specific examples which served as a basis for the practical part of the project in Moscow conducted in the disreputed neighborhood of Kapotnya. The sociological research of the territory became a basis for the development of the integration concept of the locality and development and testing of integration practices. The paper describes experience of testing integration practices, contains reflections on this work by the project’s authors and participants of the discussion as well as recommendations for the forthcoming projects on the local level.
